Glyconutritional Supplements

Glyconutritional Supplements by Jen Lynn

'Glyco' means 'Sugar' in Greek. Many people think that sugar is bad for health. However, if you look closely, there are 2 types of sugars. One type of sugars is 'intracellular' which can easily be found in vegetables and in fruits and provide our body with all the nutrition it needs. These types of sugars, which are known as complex carbohydrates, have been researched thoroughly for years together. However, only in recent times we have begun to discover their purpose in our body. The other type of sugars is 'extra cellular' which is been long linked with human disease.

A large number of researchers and scientists believe that some carbohydrates signify the next cutting edge solution in our search for safe and non-toxic treatments for many degenerative conditions. Moreover, even as we have just begun to realize, the full possible uses and cures of these carbohydrates, the study which has been reported in just the last decade, has proved a new level of hope and optimism with the world's top immunologists.

Healthy cellular bodies, which are made up of various parts working together in complicated synchronization, must have some internal communication among themselves to function harmoniously and correctly. This communication between cellular bodies, in its most basic structure, occurs at the cellular level.

So to maintain a fit and healthy body and mind, cells must communicate or talk with each other. To simplify, their language is one similar to touch, written in simple sugars on the cell surfaces. These simple sugars join with other molecules to become glycoforms. If they combine with proteins, they become glycoproteins and if they combine with lipids, they become glycolipds. So out of 200 monosaccharides (glyconutrients), which occur very naturally in plants, eight of those have been discovered to be parts or components in cell surface of glycoforms.

Similar to thousands of diverse "keys" projecting out from the cell surface, some will either unlock the necessary functions of the adjacent cell or may be not. If the right keys are present, the body functions very smoothly. If they are not present, the body does behave erratic. In some research, it states that these simple sugars do have a complex coding system which is superior to that of amino acids.

So these glyconutritionals provide the necessary cellular communication which is needed for a healthy body.

Only 2 of the 8 glyconutrients (monosaccharides) are found in modern diet. Our food intake has changed tremendously because of our appetite and demands for cheaper and quicker foods. Therefore we are not eating the healthy foods our body needs and which contain the necessary fuels for our cells to talk to each other in an effective and healthy manner. Whereas, our body has the ability to build these simple sugars, the exchange process is very complicated. During the exchange or conversion process, your cells are uncovered to hundreds and thousands of hits from free radicals floating every day. This requires energy, time and also participation from other micronutrients so that the conversion can be done smoothly. Many times viruses interfere with our body's natural capacity to create these conversions easily.

Because your body has more that some trillion cells and it fully regenerates or manufactures all of its various cells in approximately one year, any slowdown or miscommunication can cause some major health troubles. With some millions cells regenerating every day, it is very easy to visualize what would happen if the cells did not regenerates properly. That is why glyconutritional supplements are so much important to our food diet.

The UltraSimple Diet - This Physician's Simple Trick for Weight Loss

The UltraSimple Diet - This Physician's Simple Trick for Weight Loss by Mark Hyman, M.D

My UltraSimple Diet is not actually a weight loss diet, it's a trick. The trick is that it's actually a powerful health program disguised as a diet. If I can get someone to take these simple steps in only seven days, they'll be shocked by just how good they can feel and will never want to return to their old way of life.

That is the real secret of why I wrote my recent book, The UltraSimple Diet. I wanted to help people experience, often for the first time, what it's like to achieve a state of UltraWellness - lifelong health and vitality and get to the roots of illness and weight problems. The automatic result is weight loss, without cravings or calorie, carb, or fat restriction. In just seven days my patients experience a dramatic transformation in health. What I share with you in The UltraSimple Diet are all the jewels I have learned that quickly and successfully help people heal and lose weight. It works because it addresses the real causes of disease, the common roots of all illness. It is based on the emerging science of systems biology and medicine -- Functional Medicine -- and fixes the basic systems of the body that underlie all functions by correcting imbalances that have previously lead to illness.

So how do YOU do it? Get rid of bad foods and bad habits, add good foods and good habits and the body automatically takes care of the rest from there. And here is what you don't have to do: go hungry, have cravings, eat gross foods, exercise too much, wait long for results.

That's it really. It's simple. Just eliminate the foods that create toxicity and inflammation and eat detoxifying and anti-inflammatory foods. Now I want to get into the nitty gritty of how to do The UltraSimple Diet.

But before I tell you how to do it in more detail, I want you to know what you might experience in one week -- weight loss up to 10 pounds, improved digestion, relief from chronic health problems, better energy and mood. You may also find you have less congestion, allergies, joint pain, and fluid retention. And you should have better sleep and skin.

And here are the health conditions that can improve with this approach. Arthritis, asthma and allergies, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, diabetes, food allergies, headaches, heart disease, irritable bowel and inflammatory bowel, autoimmune diseases, menstrual problems and menopause, and many more!

OK, so let's review the nuts and bolts of the program. Get rid of bad foods and toxins - sugar, high fructose corn syrup, refined carbohydrates, trans fat, processed foods, alcohol, and caffeine. Add good foods - whole, unprocessed vegetables, fruit, beans, brown rice, fish, and chicken. Avoid all potential food allergens - dairy, gluten, yeast, eggs, peanuts, corn, nightshades, and citrus.

Drink UltraShakes - a low allergy protein shake full of nutrients. Drink UltraBroth - vegetable broth you can easily make by cooking up vegetables, spicing as you like, draining and saving the liquid and sipping on that throughout the day. Take UltraBaths - add Epsom salt, baking soda and lavender oil to your bath. Spend some time on reflection - write in your journal daily while you are on the program to reflect on how you are feeling, what things are changing, etc.

So what does an average day look like on The UltraSimple Diet?

* Breakfast - lemon juice and hot water, green tea, and UltraShake (a special low-allergy protein shake full of nutrients)

* Morning Snack -- UltraBroth (a special, detoxifying vegetable broth), and UltraShake (if hungry)

* Lunch -- 2 cups vegetables, 1/2 cup brown rice, and UltraShake (if hungry)

* Afternoon Snack - UltraBroth, and UltraShake (if hungry)

* Dinner - 2 cups vegetables, 1/2 cup brown rice, 4-6 ounces fish or chicken or 1 cup of beans, 1 cup UltraBroth.

That's it - surprisingly simple, and effective. It is even hard for me to believe that such a simple change in diet and lifestyle could make such a difference in just 7 days, but it does. And I have seen it thousands of times. And you won't be hungry!

As you might get by now, my true goal for all of you is to help you create UltraWellness, a state of deep and profound health, not just the absence of symptoms, disease or fat.

Here's to your good health!

Importance Of Dieting To Healthy Living

Importance Of Dieting To Healthy Living by Brad Howard

The importance of dieting to healthy living depends on what you mean when you think "diet." The many "fad" diets over the years can hardly be considered an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. Or, perhaps the many weight loss programs come to mind, with their meal-replacement strategies or carefully modified diet plans. Diet means different things to different people, but at some point or another we all have to examine our eating habits and make adjustments.

A healthy diet is ideally one that is well-balanced, with healthy servings from the main food groups, plenty of water, and a limited consumption of junk foods that are high in sugar, fat and salt. However, this is not always easy to maintain, and when excess weight has become a health issue, it can take some serious attention to both diet and exercise in order to take those extra pounds back off.

In most cases, "dieting" does not need to mean cutting out certain foods entirely, or limiting your food choices raw vegetables, for example. A healthy diet is one of moderation, and attention to how many calories you consume compared to how many you burn off each day. Both sides of the equation can be adjusted to suit your lifestyle.

The less active you are likely to be, the more careful you have to be about the fat content in the foods you enjoy. On the other hand, if you are diligently following an exercise routine, you can get away with eating a little more, or choosing slightly richer foods. For instance, that piece of cheesecake is not the threat to your waistline it could be, as long as you know that you will be following up with your commitment to several hours of activity such as walking, jogging, going to the gym, and so on.

Your best approach to healthy living involves both watching your diet and getting adequate exercise, rather than trying to control one at the expense of the other. Our bodies require a certain level of both nutrition and activity in order to keep us functioning at our best. And, once you have figured out a healthy balance for yourself, going on special diets should not be a concern. Learn to make sensible, healthy food choices all the time, with the occasional treat, and you will both feel better now, as well as prevent the development of obesity-related illnesses in the future.

Diet is a personal affair, as every person is different in terms of metabolism, dietary preferences, and optimal activity level. Find the approach to healthy living that works for you - too much deprivation is not a good thing either, and will make it harder to stick to a strict plan. Consult with your doctor or a professional dietician if you are having a hard time getting your weight under control, and you will soon be on your way to more optimal health.

So Many Diabetes Treatments - How Do You Know Which One Is Right for You ?

So Many Diabetes Treatments - How Do You Know Which One Is Right for You ? by Aron Wallad

Diabetes disease treatments - a matter of results

Do you take drugs? Are herbs for you? How much does diet play into the diabetes treatment? To each is own. Finding your remedy as a diabetes patient will relieve you of the agony of having a severe case of diabetes.

Initially when I was diagnosed with diabetes I thought that my condition would subside if I watched what I ate, exercised and found some good alternative to taking medications. Drugs were not in the game plan for me. Having spoken to some diabetics I finally got the message that it was crucial to not watch what I ate but to drastically change my eating regimen. From eating almost anything to being careful about what I put in my body. This was the biggest realization for me.

Why do you think I started to get better?

I started to eat just raw foods. An acupuncturist suggested that I do this diet of only raw fruits and vegetables. She said it was very difficult for people to stay on. But I gave it a try.

I listened with new ears and I have taken her advice. In only one week of eating raw fruits and raw vegetables the tingling feeling in my feet has subsided greatly. My blood sugar has hit a new low of 91.

Changing my diet has worked for me. Here is my list of beneficial things to do to help you with your diabetes disease. In my order of preference.

1 Start eating better - Watch your fat, carbohydrate and sugar intake. 2 Drink lots of green tea 3 Exercise on a regular basis 4 Take the stress out of your life as best you can

These are my top four recommendations. I have added drinking lots of green teas on a daily basis and have found that even on those days when I stray form my diet my blood sugar levels are good. Your situation may be different than mine. By doing what works for you will keep you on the track to better health. Finding what works for you is the main thing.

Finding something that worked was the key component for me. I felt much better about myself and I had hope that this disease could be addressed. When I say what worked I am talking about taking my diabetes disease out of the danger zone. Getting my blood sugar level to "between 80-120" on a consistent level is what I mean by out of the danger zone Herbs and exercise helped. I still take herbs and exercise regularly. What has made the biggest impact was changing to a healthful and helpful eating plan. And as I have stated before, drink lots of green tea. I drink between five and eight glasses every day.

Altering your diet will help you with your diabetes disease. If learning from some of the best by makes sense to you then go grab your e course and free MP3. The MP3 is an interview I did with The Diabetes Warrior. He lowered his blood sugar and lost over 100 pounds. Quite a remarkable guy

Food Additives Every Corn Allergy Sufferer Needs to Avoid

Food Additives Every Corn Allergy Sufferer Needs to Avoid by Nicole Evans

If you are allergic to corn I offer you my sympathy. Corn must be one of the most pervasive foods out there. Most individuals who discover they have a corn allergy or intolerance struggle to eliminate it from their diet.

You may already cautiously read the label on every food item, scanning for corn flour, masa flour, corn meal, corn syrup. Yet, some apparently corn-free foods still make you feel awful. Or worse, your health never improved after eliminating corn and you don't know why.

If you suffer from an allergy to corn you should beware of the following list of food additives. Each of these additives can be made from corn and could make you sick. Fortunately, many companies are beginning to print allergy warnings on their food items that say "does not contain . . . " or "may contain . . . ".

If the food you pick up does not explicitly state the allergy information then don't make any assumptions. Print this lengthy list out and keep it in your wallet or purse so that you can check food labels for these hidden sources of corn.

Food Additives That May Contain Corn:
Calcium lactate or stearate
Calcium stearoyl lactylate
Dextrin or Dextrose
Ethyl maltol
Fumaric or Lactic acid
Gluconolactone or Glucono delta-lactone
Glucose
Glycerine
Hydrolyzed vegetable protein
Lecithin
Linoleic acid
Malt, Maltodextrin, Maltose or Maltol
Mannitol
Polydextrose
Polysorbates
Potassium gluconate
Propylene glycol monostearate
Sodium ascorbate or other ascorbates
Sodium stearoyl fumarate
Sodium-, Magnesium-, Calcium- or Potassium-fumarate
